President appoints Acting Chief Justice for the High Courts of Telangana, Gujarat, Sikkim and Karnataka

New Delhi, August 27: Present of India Ram Nath Kovind appointed acting Chief Justice for the High Courts of Telangana, Gujarat, Sikkim and Karnataka.

The appointments have been made keeping in mind that the current chief justice of these four High Courts will be relinquishing their charges upon their appointments as judges of Supreme Court.

While Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, senior-most Judge of Karnataka High Court 2 will be performing his duties of the Chief Justice with the effect from the date Justice Abhay Sreeniwas Oka relinquishes his post.

Likewise, Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai, senior-most Judge of Sikkim High Court will be performing his duties of the Chief Justice the effect from the date Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari relinquishes his post.

Similarly, Justice Vineet Kotkari will step in the place of Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court with the effect from the date Justice Vikram Nath relinquishes his post.

Justice Mamidanna Satya Ratna Sri Ramachandra Rao, senior-most Judge of Telangana High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date Kumari Justice Hima Kohli relinquishes the charge as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
